One sunny summer morning, a little boy named Huck woke up to hear the farm animals outside of his window. It was not different than any other day on the farm until he went outside and discovered that all of the animals were speaking a different language. Even his best friend, Jack, the duck clucked instead of quacked. He was so excited that he ran inside to share the amazement with his mother. Huck learned on that magical day that although animals and people may speak different languages, they can all get along and love each other.
About the Author
Kelly Day holds a Ph.D. in Business, Organization and Management, and focused her dissertation on resettlement efforts of African refugees in the Northwest. Through the dissertation process, she mentored and advocated for resettled African refugees who many could not speak English or fend for themselves upon arrival into the U.S. Although it was challenging to understand their language, she grew to have deep respect, compassion, and love for the people who exuded the deepest faith and love for God, even after all of the trauma they had endured and years of journey to escape from their home to a far away land. Through this experience of meeting these families and their precious children, she shares this story with its readers as a reminder to always "Love One Another."Mary E. "Beth" Dupree is an illustrator, acrylic, and collage/mixed media artist. She was born in Harmon, Louisiana and grew up in Ashland, Louisiana. She attended Northwestern University in Natchitoches, Louisiana from 1957 until 1960. Before she could graduate, she and her young family moved to Oak Ridge, Tennessee. It turned out to be the first of many moves. As a military wife, she moved frequently while maintaining a career teaching art in public schools and continuing to pursue her education and art training. She received her M. A. from Virginia Commonwealth University, in Richmond, Virginia in 1983. In addition, she has studied painting at several universities and at the Vermont Studio School, the Rhode Island School of Design, as well as multiple museum workshops. Her works reside in private collections and are exhibited locally and nationally. After retiring as a full time art teacher in the public school system, she spent a very rewarding and enjoyable six years as an adjunct professor of painting at Thomas Nelson Community College in Hampton, Virginia. In May 09, she moved once more to Orange, Texas to be near family. She lives with her husband Steve and their canine Sophie.Will Useman was born an artist and musician. Growing up in Seattle and born in Louisiana, his inspiration stems from cultural diversity through experience. Will is currently attending Louisiana Tech University's School of Design and gaining a following of more than 10,000 people on social media by creating drum remixes and digital art.
