Detecting & Dealing With False Teachings: How to Maintain Sound Doctrine in the Local Church
Description
The first four chapters in this book were taught many years ago as a Central Valley School of Ministry seminar. The outline and lecture notes from this seminar were converted into this book. I added the final four chapters later to address some critical issues related to this theme of false teachings. We have been warned that in these last days there will be many false prophets and false teachers following deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons. Nothing may be more important to Christian believers than knowing and walking in God's truth. Sound doctrine is so significant to the life and health of the local church. In Chapter 1, we identify what these false ministers are called and what they teach. Jesus and the apostles said that they are coming. We cannot ignore them.In the second chapter, we discover how to detect and identify false teachings. What will these teachings say? Interestingly, most false teachings focus on the nature and person of Jesus Christ. We will also look at the root problems. One of the most important truths in this book will be that a corrupt lifestyle leads to corrupt teaching. When someone begins to walk in darkness, he will start speaking dark things.
